Substack Alternatives (2026): 3 Platforms That Don't Take 10% of Your Revenue
TL;DR
Substack keeps 10% of paid subscription revenue. The main alternatives: beehiiv (Free up to 2,500 subscribers; 0% take rate on paid subscriptions on Lite and up; ad network, website and podcast included), Ghost(Pro) (from $18/mo billed yearly; 0% transaction fees on Publisher at $29/mo yearly and up), and Kit (free up to 10,000 subscribers; 3.5% + 30¢ per sale; strongest automations). For most writers leaving Substack to keep more paid revenue, beehiiv is the closest like-for-like switch.
